Greenhouse is a project that consisted of three recreation programs in Oakland. While the themes of the studio emphasized structure, composition, and schematic design, the sites cultural activist history lured me into creating a space emphasizing its contextual richness.

Integrating historical context with Oakland's redlining history, it was critical that I addressed the unequal and restricted access of resources and equity. Focusing on serving marginalized communities in Oakland, my recreational programs consisted of; community garden, community pool and protesting platform.
The community garden program is intended to create introduction in sustainability and green practices to the marginalized communities that are limited of these insights. Connecting communities across Oakland and inviting them to foster green practices to apply and take back home. Ultimately, the save haven could not be complete without means of purposed platform for activism tracing back decades of Oakland's protesting history.
Materiality was incorporated to the notion of community design, as the structure is proposed of reclaimed mass timber. It included concrete load barring walls as a structural asset, nevertheless, dually promoting cultural identity as they also serve artistic mural spaces for the community.
